A quick goodbye! Off home tonight after a relaxing couple of days down at Alex and Yoga's little piece of paradise. All the racing around of the writers festival is in the past. Leg muscles recuperating. All I have done these past few days is swim, lie around reading, have friends Pam and Roger over, and Jasmin here for the afternoon. 8-year old Alby taught her to play chess! Will next see Jasmin in Sunny Sydney in December.
Always lovely to spend time with Alex and family in their beautiful recycled wood home by the rice fields. The fields here are a stage further on than at Josh's, and the harvest has begun (causing Alex terrible allergies - fancy living in Bali and being allergic to the ripening rice plant!)
I had to shut up Josh's house and bid it a teary goodbye forever on Wednesday morning. The owner is coming daily to feed the cats. A good thing the driver came almost an hour earlier than booked - saved me from wallowing too long in my silent farewells to my Bali home for the last five years, the nicest one Josh has lived in. Josh will be back there for another month when he returns from the US, but when I next come to Bali, which may well be a whole year away for next year’s festival, it will likely be to a different house in a different area south of Ubud.
Leaving for the airport in a few hours. Time to fit in another swim though!
Sampai jumpa lagi - until we meet again.
